A world of wonders for young ones in fairy tales that they read and explore. The famous stories that we all grew up on and still hold dear today.

Welcome to a wonderful world
shared by quite a few.
And though through generations it has been told,
it reatins its charm as new.
The stories of the Emperor’s new clothes
The Princess who slept for a 100 years
The giant beanstalk that Jack climbed
which grew from magic beans to him sold.

A girl the size of the thumb on your hand
who ended up being a Princess so grand.
The tailor who killed 7 at one blow.
The young couple seperated by the Queen of Snow.
The brother and sister in a candy hut
and how they escaped the scheming witch.
The splendour of diamonds and gold
in the 40 robber’s hidden hold.

I know a magic carpet flies,
somewhere in the Arabian skies.
The lamp is now lost
but still eagerly sought.
The little girl surrounded by cinder
whose Fairy God Mother found her.
Gave her a gown and sent her to a ball,
where the land’s Prince chose her above them all.

Someone’s been reading the Brothers Grimm of late, haven’t they? Or was it Mother Goose? Maybe even Lord Dunsany?

    Fine poem. Thanks for that.
