A short poem about finding solace in the whirlwinds of life.
On treacherous paths we follow, blind and deaf
Filled with infinite peril far and wide
No where to run, no shelter in which to hide
One wrong move could mean most certain death
Indeed we travel through rough and rugged terrain
Through winding hills, narrow valleys, over bottomless pits
Through desne forests, crooked caverns, endless labyrinths
Terrifying, relentless, and brutal, yet still worth the pain
For existence is a gift, though taken for granted
Life works out for the best, though you never planned it
Often our greatest ideas come from our mistakes
Some end in great triumph and others in heartache
But it’s better to feel sorrow, joy, and all the rest
Then to remain unattached, feel nothing, or live meaningless.
