Having trouble describing the simple roles in a family? This does it for you with a lot of heart and a little humor.
People to love no matter their flaws,
People to lean on no matter the cause.
Parents to guide and answer too,
Good parents to let you know they will always love you.
Grandparents to share their wisdom, love and always their when you need a hug.
Full of stories your eager to hear,
As a child calmed your fear.
Aunts and Uncles to tell secrets to,
When it’s not often easy to tell parents what we do,
And to be a friend when we need them to.
Cousins to grow up with and were probably your first best friend,
As you age together with childhood memories,
Truly friends to the end.
Siblings to play, fight, and get in to trouble,
And when you’re mad at the other,
The first to burst your bubble.
Causing bumps, bruises, and scars through the years,
Causing laughter and causing tears.
-But it all ends with love-
How fortunate we are to have people who love us and we can turn to.
I am fortunate, How about you?
