Fancy Flowers a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay. A poem about the beauty of flowers and the death and rebirth of new growth.
Fancy Flowers
Resting in the green oval vase,
were the most beautiful pansies
and centered in the middle was
a gentle pink rose
that whispered of love and sweet beauty.
It was the most delicate thing
and it was lingering
for over a week.
Alas, finally her fancy flower
began to droop
and the life withered out of it.
The day it died
a little bit of life
left the lady
and she felt sorrow hit her
soul
as beauty left her.
Only to return another day.
She had more waiting in her garden.
