I no longer hunger for who you are

Or thirst for the things you do

I searched through a library of 66 books And one of it’s features

Said through a man named Christ Jesus

Then I realized, with you gone

I no longer have wants to fornicate or lie

I no longer feel the need to have envy towards or gossip about others

My urges for drugs and drinking will soon be laying with you 6ft under

See there are 4 books about my new friend

They say he died too but from the dead he was raised

Another one says when you were alive I was your slave

But I called a name, to my rescue he came and instantly I was saved

Saved from pain, depression, sickness, loneliness, and death

Now my situations run a little smoother

Life is a little better now that you’ve taken your last breath

Don’t you remember way back when

Those things we did, and to so and so those things we said

I didn’t listen to others when the said from you they fled

But now that you’re dead, I finally feel like I can breathe again

And it’s all because of my new friend

Where the scripture says

The nails went through his feet and hands and his blood was shed

So now you’re dead cause by his father he was brought to life again

So on this day to you I say, goodbye…..farewell…..old…..friend

This thing we had has come to an end

Why???

Because I know who Jesus is

And I confessed it with my mouth and believed it with my heart

So he did away with my sins

Touched my life gave me reason to live

I will say it one more time but you’re not coming back so I won’t say it again
