As gods we walk through space and time.

I sit and dream of a time and place
(far away, on the borders of Utopia)
where man has plumbed the depths of space
and conquered the dark corners of his mind.

I strain to grasp, my thoughts spin ’round
and reel from the awesome vision’s grandeur.
What powers gained, what knowledge found,
fulfillment of all human endeavor!

As gods we walk through space and time
our whim the command of all the cosmos.
Secrets unlocked, knowledge sublime
desire sated at a moment’s thought.

But with this all encompassing grasp
for which we’ve striven since first thought flicker’d
will striving then heave it’s last gasp
a race bereft of prayer and purpose?

I certainly have more faith in your writing abilities than I do human endeavor.
