ITS A POEM ABOUT A FATHER AND SON, WHO GETS DISTANCED FROM EACH OTHER AS THE SON GROWS UP.

DAYS, MONTHS AND YEARS PASS

AS HE GREW INTO THE MAN

HIS FATHER DREAMED.

NO LIMIT TO THE WEALTH AND FAME

DID HE KNOW

AS HE SCALED  HEIGHTS

MEN WOULD ENVY.

AT LAST HE IS AT HIS PEAK.

HE STAND AT HIS HIGH FORM

WITH A SMILE ON HIS CHEEK

AND LOOK DOWN AT HIS FATHER.

THE HUMBLE EFFIGY.

AND DECLARE WITH PRIDE

‘THAT MAN IS MY FATHER.’

HE SAID THUS

TO SHOW OTHERS THE DIFFERENCE.

TO SHOW THEM WHERE HE COMES FROM

AND WHERE HE IS NOW.

TO SHOW THAT HE IS BETTER CAPABLE

THAN HIS WITHERED ANCESTOR.

NOT ONCE DID HE TRY TO UNDERSTAND

THE LOVE AND HARDSHIPS

THAT THRONED HIM THERE.

HE WOULD KNOW SOON AS

HE TOO WILL BE IN THE SAME PLACE.

BUT FOR THE OLD MAN

THAT STATEMENT OF ACCEPTANCE

WERE REWARD ENOUGH.

HE WALKED AWAY INTO HIS ETERNAL HOME.

PEACE AT MIND.
