Numb from the cold,

Lacking the emotions to feel.

Has my humanity abandoned me,

Or just been forever lost in

The cycle of disaster?

Nobody is expected to understand

The tragedies with which others’

Spirits are lost into oblivion.

But the hope lies in those that still try

Despite having wave after wave of

Hate and indifference wash over them.

Trapped in the constant cycle

Of seeking that which can never be found.

Which never existed beyond the view of

One’s hand before their face in the darkness.

Has all hope failed?
