Poem.
Born abandoned
Know no mother
No father
Don’t even know themself
Speech escapes them
Raised by canines —
They become one
Their only interaction
Is a canine
Some don’t even have that
Some are just mute
Don’t leave the dark, lonely room
Miss out on childhood
No parents
No siblings
Too alone and forgotten
Abandoned
To even know themself
To understand abandonment
To understand anything
The most pure being
Is the most hurt
The most abandoned
So pure, knowledge was never taught
Around people years later,
They’re frightened and lost
Born abandoned
Live alone — no contact
Poor, little children
If not saved by a pet,
Raised by an animal,
They’re simply alone
Without even their thoughts…
