A poem celebrating a couple’s sixth year anniversary.
Was it fate or sheer random chance
That led me online
Five arbitrary years ago.
What chance reshapes my luckless
Miserable life that before then was filled
With promiscuous one-night-stands.
Fruitful? Fleeting cheap relations.
You, sir, are my comfortable
Snugly saran wrap
That encompasses my weaknesses and
Transform
Them unto fiery bliss.
I’m the luckiest guy
Therein I can see from here on.
If eternal force, higher power, designs
To shine on our peacefully while tumultuous love
That this year our celebration coincides with
Tet, the gods are loving our love, uniqueness,
In this crazily changing, rapidly isolating world.
May Tet brings you its blessing, myriad yet purposeful,
Balancing out all that hardship in your life
You’ve endured thus far. Because you
Are truly deserving every greatness that
Life has to offer, me and myself, singing.
Because I do know now more than ever
I love you with a steadfast passion
A sincere energy bursting forth to bring
You as much happiness, dawn smiles and dusk embraces,
As you’ve brought me so far,
Every moment
With
Or
Without
You.
