A Fairy tale type poem. This poem is free style. So it doesn’t follow meter.

My real passion is not writing articles

, but writing stories and occasionaly poems. I will probably never share a story through Triond, but I don’t see the harm in sharing my poetry with you.  This particular poem was inspired by a celtic music cd I happened to be listening to. It has a fairy tale feel to it and follows the orginal fairy tale story pattern and not the watered down Disney version. While I thank Disney for making our Fairy Tales kid friendly I find the orginal story pattern far easier and more fun to play with.

FIELD OF ROSES

In a field of roses she lay,

in an endless sleep.

Bound by an evil spell,

her soul trapped in torment.

Looking upon her you wouldn’t know her pain.

Rays of sun shine down on her.

Keeping her warm.

Her long, golden, flowing hair tries to outshine the sun.

Her pale skin is delicate and sweet.

Her lips pink and soft.

She wears a long red gown that touches her toes.

Her shoes are missing,

and  wildflowers are stuck in her hair.

Her prince searches far and wide,

but his lovely princess slumbers in a magical place.

Where darkness  doesn’t dwell.

Only his kiss can wake her,

but she is far from his reach.

Years pass.

The prince grows tired and weary.

He marries another,

has a family and forgets his beloved.

Forever in the field of roses she waits,

for her prince.

Who will never come.

I know it’s sad, but I hope you liked it. Please leave comments. I’m open to harsh, but contructive critiscm. I’m always looking to improve my writing.
