Today is here, today we learn our fate

Did we catch the demon in time or are we to late

We never dreamt it would happen, you are too young

Too many adventures waiting too much life left undone

How much time will be left a year maybe more

I am not prepared for you to walk out of life’s door

So much time wasted worrying and fighting over stupid things

Forgetting to appreciated the treasures and wonders life brings

This is our wake up call this has become our fight

No more time to waste fretting over wrong or right

What time we have left will be spent living at full speed

Knowing the end is near changes what you want and need

Why did it take today for us to see what has always been there

A life meant to be explored a world allowing us the chance to dare

We didn’t chase our dreams we let fear stand in our way

Today we start fighting fear, chasing life and living for each precious day
