There is no dish more Zen…

this ultimate meal

is to be eaten no earlier

than midnight

and no later

than four in the morning

and must be eaten

alone

or possibly

with a good friend

or loved one

who will not talk

until you are done

-

there must be

no television

or computer

or anything else

of a distracting nature

within range

of your senses

-

to eat this

properly

you must do so

wholeheartedly

-

so

-

the preparation

-

get some

uncooked

filet mignon

-

i don’t care where from

or of what quality it is

-

season each side as desired

or marinate if you want

(to attain full tenderness/awareness)

-

cook it in a frying pan

until it is done enough

for you

and then slice it up

into bite sized pieces

and drizzle ketchup

over the top of it

(this is key)

-

sit somewhere calm

i prefer

a reclined position

in my favorite chair

you must be comfortable

and focused

only then may you eat

-

i should mention

it is advisable

to reflect at this time (while eating)

upon what you are doing

so as to guarantee that

you experience

the full experience

of filet mignon

and ketchup

Nice writing, but why would you ruin a good filet mignon by frying it and using ketchup?

Grilled and marinated, or plain with a little salt!

Enjoyed the presentation, now the taste.

It’s great when you eat it with ketchup because that is a super unrefined way to eat a traditionally refined cut of meat. It is like a culinary rebellion, and that is what makes it so satisfying. Oh and it tastes great too.

We assign so much status to certain types of meat or restaurant or people, and it is liberating to occasionally rebel against those artificial classifications. If you don’t know what I mean by now, I can think of no other way to justify this dish, and will finish by simply saying:

FILET MIGNON WITH KETCHUP DOESN’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT!

    Cheers,
    Kris
