Poem about the need to fall asleep.
I can’t seem to fall asleep.
I’m feeling wide awake.
There’s no use trying to count the sheep.
They’re taking a long, lunch break.
Perhaps if my mattress wasn’t so lumpy,
Or my pillows so completely flat,
I’d fall asleep in an instant,
Instead of staring at my darn cat.
It’s two o’clock in the morning.
My eyes are still open tonight.
If I don’t fall asleep very soon,
I’ll be yawning at the dawn of light.
So as I look at my bedroom,
And think of Little Bo Peep,
I suddenly collapse from exhaustion,
