I started early, lost my focus; tried again and Hocus-Pocus!

My parents nagged, told me to work,
Decided then, that they would lurk.
I wanted them to go away,
I learned I’d need to work all day.
My homework wasn’t hard to do.
I took a break and felt brand-new.
I worked and worked ’til it was done.
Did all of it, then had some fun.
Be it math, science, history, L.A.
I got it done, ’cause I worked – NO PLAY!
I was so proud when it was over,
As though I’d found a Four-Leaf Clover.
Some days ago it was assigned,
Today, I got it in on time.
