This is a poem about African Americans, and their arrival to the, White House through the love of Barrack and, Michelle Obama.
There sould not have been any dry eyes
For every black man, woman, and child had a good reason to cry
As a people we have arrived
Let us therefore reflect
Though forgiving let
Us not forget
That the challenges we did face were indeed met
With a willingness to be free
For the first time in American History
The first couple looks like me
All of us should be on our knees
Praising God for this historic victory
With a more profound responsibility
To Dr. Martin Luther King,
And the dream
To Malcolm X and countless others
Fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers
The bold and the brave
Rethinking the roll we played
As once being slaves
For of a truth by the hands of the enslaved this nation was made
And I believe this naion can be saved
By a black ma that coined the phrasel
Yes we can
Now holding the highest office in the land
Our cammander in chief
Miracles never cease
For those who beliefs
Were rooted in unwavering faith
January 20th, 2009 is a testament that we’ve come a long way
Upon evening tides
As a people we have arrived
Therefore let every black man, woman, and child renew thier strength and their minds
Redefind
The nature of the black man, woman relationship
Make a new commitment
To ourselves and this nation
Though problems we’re still facin’
Our president has called us to service
We as a people knomw that no weapon formed against us can hurt us
Though there was a time when they beat us and worked us
Refusing to succomb to such toil and trouble
Barrack and Michelle Obama has risen to our nation’s first couple
Now do we believe
What black love can achieve
