Fishermen enjoy catching fishes.

Fishes are those cold blooded

Aquatic vertebrates

With elongated bodies

And scales

That anglers enjoy catching

- – -

To a schoolboy

All it takes is a rod with a hook

Wading through water

Standing on a bank

Some bait, whether worms

Fly baits and a pond

Stream, creek, or river

And a lot of patience

- – -

Many of the more adventurous

Venture out with fishing boats

Into bays like the  Chesapeake

Oceans like the Atlantic and Pacific

Where they fish for bigger prizes

Especially during seasons

When the fishing is good

- – -

Some that are religious

Talk about being fishermen

With their biblical goal to win

Souls for the Lord

Through persistence

And in the spreading the word

- – -

Their converts will not be drinking

Like a fish

Although they may take communion

That’s merely a sip of sacred wine

With or without a wafer

- – -

By this time converts would

Have their own communities

Whether Baptist, Evangelical

Or Fundamentalist

In the Christian faith

- – -

They would not now be viewed

As a fish out of water

In other words they would

Be saved

Settled and adjusted

To a new lifestyle

- – -

Like fishes and loafs

They would share in a fish fry

During fellowship

And with the coming of the Holy Spirit

Would have new fish eye lenses

That would enable their members to see

Life’s panorama in its totality
