I never minded school that much but there was always one place I would rather have been. Fishing.

If I were ruler of the world,
instead of a dreaming fool.
I`d make bating hooks and catching fish,
things they taught in school.
I would always pay attention,
to what was being taught.
And my grades would depend on nothing but,
the fish that I had caught.
Mother nature would be teacher,
and the water would serve as a book.
And I`d feel like a real scholar,
beside some babbling brook.
No I`m not the ruler of the world,
I`m just a dreaming fool.
Who thinks the world would be such fun,
If fishing were taught in school.

I really enjoyed reading thins. I have never cared for fishing myself but I do enjoy a rhythmic, rhyming poem and this one’s got that.

    Good job!

I’m not into fishing either, but the poem is great fun and nicely written. Made me smile….

That is so neat, I’m not a fisherman but my youngest grandson would agree with you completely.
