This is another one of my love poems. Written in the english sonnett style. It’s about a girl I started dating years ago. We had started dating on September 5th. Her birthday was August 31st, and this all started after her 18th birthday…hence the title and the first line of the poem.
Right after this girl became a woman
Was a date that I’ll always remember
And my ever dry love became a fountain
Five days past the eve of September
She had fallen and I’d lifted her heart
A raging fire of passion from an ember
I felt ceaseless love for her at the start
Five days past the eve of September
She’s the only one I’ve come to cherish
As my soul became as light as a feath’r
Then I knew our love would never perish
Five days past the eve of September
I swore that our affections would retain
And will it so, less my love be in vein
