A Poem on Transubstantiation and the Holy Eucharist.

[october 5 2008]
FLESH & BLOOD: accidental species - flesh and blood

o
blood like wine,
and flesh
like bread,
on Thee we dine,
refreshed
from death.
o blood divine,
innocent,
shed,
for sins
of mine.
accidents.
bled,
blood
red
the wine;
from Your side.
dead,
You died,
thirsting
for me.
i thirst
for Thee,
o Lord, divine,
Thy blood
like wine,
together we die,
together
we rise,
rise
in
resurrection.
transubstantiation.
catholic accidents
and species,
holy
holy
holy
eucharist.
on this
on this,
we dine,
and are fed.
flesh and blood,
blood like wine,
flesh like bread.
