What secret does the flower know.

Amid the blackened mud a flower grew
Reminder of a time that couldn’t last
A lover’s passion burning way too fast
This flower bears the madness they went through
Oh flower of such kisses from the past
What feelings fostered fate of lovers two
One wonders now if even they then knew
Speak flower any scent which you may cast
A sunny day they say when couple met
To air some darkness brewing in their mind
Resulting in a flower in the mud
What followed was a scene of deep regret
As blow by blow soft words became unkind
Resulting in a flower in the blood

Well written. I enjoyed it. Brings up memories of classic tragedies in literature.

Two quatrains of inquiry, and two tercets of response…

    I like it:-)
