A flower adrift on the ice.

Across the frozen pond, she skates with uncertain legs
A fawn standing for the first time, her posture unsteady
Gliding so tentatively, an awkward kind of grace
Floating gently upon the ice, drifting lightly
Sunflower silk cascades around her, petals blossoming
Unfurling with the breeze, embracing the velvet rose
A smile kisses her lips, as giggles caress the winter air
Doe-eyes gazing at her beloved, his brown eyes smitten
Suddenly there is a shriek, as she tumbles to the icy floor
Sprawling upon the ice, her petals scattering about
A blush touches her porcelain cheeks, mortified
But soon he is by her side, cradling her in his arms
He sweeps her off the ice, fierce affection in his dark eyes
Azure satin enveloping her delicately, a tender sheathe
Taking her away, to their ice castle
Where love blooms in winter
