Was man really meant for airline airplane travel?

Image via Wikipedia

Man was not meant to fly in a box
breathing the recycled viral stew
of his fellow companions in folly.

The time wasted in getting from here to there
is spent in hours of unremitting boredom
punctuated by flashes of ice-edged terror.

After the indignity of preflight searches
and the interminable wait for approval
You pay for the whole seat but only use the edge.

Tell me about it! I just hate flying. When I lived in the UK we had to fly to get virtually anywhere. Now that I live in France we can drive to other countries (except of course the UK) and we encourage family to come from the UK to visit us.

It scares me, I hate the waiting around and especially as you suggest the thoughts of all the bugs on board – try to relax when someone is sneezing!
