The city is beautiful at night
And not to sound cliché but
The rain, it doesn’t drive us
Away, we had our adventures
In china town with bubble tea.

Hipsters, they all gathered in
The indie movie theatre with
Over priced popcorns and
Fancy coffees, it was a win
… Win to escape from the rain
And experienced a more
Subtle culture.

You see folk artists playing
In the city don’t let college
Kids come see their shows
So we will find our way
Like we know where we are
Even if every street corner
Looks the same.

Take 2 at a better romance
Seemed to be a failure until
We looked back at the story
We can tell of brightly
Lit bridges pointing to
Brooklyn, while we are
Looking for battery parks
And something to do.

You see lower Manhattan
Is the place to be on rainy
Week days in April, with
Everyone in a hurry and
Every street cleared, we
Have the right away.

Nope it won’t ruin our fun,
Our minds are so far else where
That every disappointment wont
Hurt us because we’re too proud
That we found the road home.
