A sequel or a parody of the famous poem Footprints in the Sand. This describes the oft-repeated scenario of being successful that one forgets that there are lesser people that are stepped on by those who rose to power and wealth.

Last night he dreamed once more,
He was walking along the beach with the Lord.
And across the sky flashed scenes of his new life.
Yet for each scene, he noticed only one set of footprints.
So he asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, I have decided to follow You
and walk with you all the way.
And you rewarded me.
But I noticed that during my times of bounty
there was only one set of footprints.
Do you have to abandon me?”
The Lord replied.
“My son, my precious child, I love you.
And I will never leave you.
During your times of plenty, you become giddy.
You no longer stoop low.
Along the beach are other lives too.
Lest you trampled more
as you stepped on quite a few,
It was then that I must carry you.
For are they not my creatures too?”
