A tribute to the father of evolution “Charles Darwin”
If I had a time machine
I’ll set on an expedition
wandering through fossils and tusks
tracing the footprints on the sands of time.
Itumbled upon
hordes of cretaceans
herds of mammals;
caught in a race for survival
in a myriad of evolution.
My eyes dazzled
at silent secrets cast on stone
stories shared without a word
and my mind ruminating
on the new found cud.
Passing through great apes,sprinting
ergasters and wise eructus,
a mammoth feast with neanderthals;
amazed finches peering at me
I continued on my quest
in search of prince of footprints.
An innocent me
ran into an intercross war
vanquishing other genus;
A scream rippled through my body
Alas!got trampled over by many
in a fight against natural disaster
and few winning distinctions;
huffing and puffing
I dragged myself out
with intricacies of divergence and extinction
sunk deep in my blood.
I walked on and on
until I found myself in a maze of leaflets
from ‘origin of species’
then it dawned on me
the footprints belong to
Charles Darwin indeed!!
A sweet pain stiching my limbs
I marched on
in search of my lon lost time machine
On the way,I met
a jolly old man
whistling all the way along,
his eyes gave me a feeling funny;
he watching me all through the adventure!!
Little did I know
it was Darwin himself!!!!
