In sympathy.

We who live life long enough

Have lost a dad or mom

We watch in helpless agony

As loved ones linger on

Knowing of a better place, yet

Loathe to loose the grip

That holds them to this fetid Earth

And stays that restful trip

That God prepared a better place

Is surely in our minds

But hearts know little logic

When such ties we strive to bind.

Give your heart its time to heal

And grief its proper place

Let the mem’ries linger near

As hard times now you face

Guilt may strive to tarry long

As past hurts mar your brow

But lay them down as empty things

For they don’t matter, now.

Know that friends both far and near

Would willingly embrace

And help you bear this wound, if only

Friends were face to face.

If any of this is about the Justice that we all know of– I, too, motion for a Stay! That place–none of Us know of it–if you did, you would not be here and if you were–the whole world will be asking: “How you do that?” Congress awaits your explanation!
Mankind will welcome your fame! Cool!

Thanks, so much, for this; and, oddly enough (in reference to the last stanza), you and several others have found a means to be ‘face to face’. :-)

That was really good Mama. I really enjoy reading your stuff. Every time I read something you wrote I feel like such an amateur. Love ya

I felt the sadness. Maybe because I already lost my mom and dad. Such a very emotional poem.

You really captured some powerful feelings and thoughts here. Also speaks to the power of our fellowship as writers. God bless Feg.
