When this life on earth is past, only what’s done for Christ will last. We need to live our lives in order to bring glory to God, not ourselves.
What is done for my glory
Will quickly fade and die.
What is done for God’s glory
Will last eternally.
My will is but a whisper,
A grain in the sands of time.
Thy will shouts in answer
For the whole world’s ears.
My strength is quickly fading
My body groweth weak.
But Thine will last forever
And is there for all to seek.
I accomplish nothing
In my strength alone.
But all things are possible
With Thy help above.
Lord, help me not to glory
In the things down here below.
But in the works that thou hast done
To save this world of woe
