I wrote this for a friend, when his mom died of cancer, March 19th, 2010.

For Joey’s Mom

So many years she served her Lord,

Right by her husband’s side.

Till sickness came, the dreaded word,

And then her body died.

But Her spirit lives immortal in

That land where comes no night.

She’s left this world of grief and sin,

And everything’s alright.

She views her Saviour’s Face above,

In the Land of endless day.

We grieve for the one we knew and loved,
But God called her away.

So we wait for the day we reunite

With the loved one we all knew.

We know that when God’s time is right,

We shall go be with her too.

[Delivered of her only son,

Three days past thirty-seven.

She's left him here to point souls on,

To her beautiful Home in Heaven!]

She’d not come back from that Heavenly Land,

Blessed Land of Eternal bliss.

For she sings now with the angel band,

Not for earthly mortals, this.

She is leaning now on the Saviour’s breast,

Healed forever by Gilead’s Balm.

While we mourn her passing, She’s at rest.

No more need of prayer for Mom!
