A wise man warns lumberjacks of the pain the forests feel. Yet they, and all of humanity, continues to kill the forests. (written as a short tale in haikus)
Approaches he does
he winces in agony
as he draws nearer
no one notices
simply continue to work
cutting and killing
each cut bringing screams
deafening screams go unheard
humans continue
it phases you none
the forest screams out for help
and you just ignore
the wise man pauses
lay down your axes i beg
pause for a moment
just a short moment
listen to the agony
you wreak upon them
they are not just trees
they are the essence of life
please just a moment
lumberjacks listen
they hear not but money come
the scream of the trees
are heard not by them
humanity continues
to silence the screams
though not the right way
they continue to slaughter
and trees still do fall
I am that wise man
I ask you for but a moment
stop and hear them cry
realize their hurting
and do something to help them
they are more than trees
