For Many A Year Gone By.
The old t. v. has stood around my house
For many a year gone by.
It tells of tales truth and fantasy,
Of which I cannot deny.
For this is my realm of scenes
That entice with romance of a lyre and a falcon
That none so far have begotten.
Secret agents are always after some evil genius
Who threatens to destroy the world for his own self gain.
However, it’s Jack Bauer who fights deadly forces
To save the life of some politician.
If only instead is were a simple a matter of a kitten
In need of assistance in getting down from a tree.
For is this not the land of the free?
Battles take place in foreign lands.
Down goes a soldier in the sands.
Bombs go off, and the world is no more
But bits and pieces of shattered remains.
The minds of the living are wounded beyond repair
After enduring this plight of a wicked scare.
Nerves tighten and the pulse explodes,
Sending blood to the ground as it flows.
