My father passed away on January 18, 2012. This is for him.
For My Father
The hour comes, we know not when
This life will pass and begin again,
Our souls live on, energy does not die,
We find ourselves in a piece of the sky.
Tears flow and wash away toward
The beginning of another day,
I mourn his death, and yet I can afford
To know that he is now with the Lord.
So many emotions swirl in the mind,
Leaving weakness and strength behind
For me to ponder upon as I seek the light,
I sense his spirit is shining bright,
Remembering the good times is well,
I have no taste for the ugly times,
Dwelling on them does no one any good,
I listen to the wind bell chimes.
Dear father, I will miss you so,
More than you could ever know,
No matter moments of sorrow,
Life, no one can beg , sell, or borrow.
Mother is strong and will carry on,
Our family support is strong,
Do not worry about her,
Everything is where it does belong.
And so I leave readers food for thought,
Family troubles, in the end, matter not,
Whatever despair you may have been through,
You would not be here without parents, no you.
