For The Love of Cows

Cows are loved for their beef and other products. The way we treat them often raises questions especially when they become our sacrificial lambs for the offering.

Beef can benefit our bodies

Nobody can deny

Having a good steak

Or hamburger

Can be a treat

Or is it?

- – -

Milk like beef

Rather whole or fat free

Has lots of proteins

And are especially

Good for teens

- – -

From milk comes cheese

Of different varieties

From sharp, mild, to spicy

To satisfy our differing needs

And tastes

- – -

Cow’s leather we wear

As adornments

As fancy belts,

Purses, hats

And special shoes

- – -

But how do we treat

Our poor cattle?

Do cows browse

In green pastures

And given free reign

To enjoy their inevitable life?

- – -

The answer is “no”

Instead many are fed corn

To build bulk

That make their meat

And milk

Less nutritious

Excellent. I tried to become vegetarian 8 times in college. I once had a soy hot dog for Thanksgiving while everybody else ate turkey.

Cows are good but they are treated so unfairly. Good write. Yes indeed, they are given all those horrid chemicals and not allowed to live a normal life. Have you ever looked into a cows eyes and wondered what they are thinking, maybe about human hash. Grains, fruits and veggies are really good. Try some today.
