An elaboration of love.
For what it’s Worth
Now with no exception to the rules of the game
A man perceived differently before you now bleeds the same.
While thinking differently I Stick to my mind wizardry and complex wording ability
Believing now only I can own my uncertainty.
I once had a possession whose worth couldn’t be replaced by the whole wide world to me
You know, way back when the world was flat and that was all that people could see.
Backwardly thinking a person could posses another person
How naivety spread through me, bothered by how naive I could be.
Better yet thinking she was the exception to the rule
Instead becoming another ruled fool
Expecting more from what I built off of my girlfriend’s pedestal!
Sadly learning that, only those with the level of I can only adjust new perimeters to the rule.
With no control over another persona I am far from a slave master
And even further from the slave quarters.
So after I chuck it up as a loss and I toss up the deuce,
Flip my hat backward to protect my thinking
Keeping the receipt because I’m boss.
Finally, realizing if she doesn’t want it then leave it alone.
Loves return policy is off but I will always remember its home.
Where my heart grew up, it will remember the cost.
Never going back there but for what it is worth
Her worth, Her love’s price weighed out to the weight of the world,
The grip of a globe; unfortunately my Tawfiq (gift from God)
Of the Universe was too much for My girl.
It was my gift, her curse. My precious, her pearl.
