As though she really knew him
Truth was, she had really
Outgrown him

He was no longer
The page
She had read
Him to be
Somehow
The words had moved
The message changed
She now understood

The ache in her heart
Had somehow dissipated
Had finally slipped away
Into saddened nights
Of wine and tears
Of wishes and
Insurmountable fears

When once they thought
For just a moment
That true love had finally
Struck the steps
They took,
The movement
Toward infinity
Questions met
Pondering
Did, they ever
Truly see?

Very well written and the message in it I could understand more then I want to admit. Not all relationships were meant to last a lifetime and not always good for us.
