Just simple groups of words that wouldn’t leave me alone as I lay down to sleep. I fought them hard but they finally won out…so I got up and wrote them down.
You are with me always forever on my mind
Early of a morning and when the sun no longer shines.
Sometimes you go to work with me remaining through the day
Sometimes your name is on my lips but I’m afraid to say.
No one could quite understand the things we have been through
Never would I have dreamed I’d go through them with you.
The trials and tribulations that you and I have faced
Have only proved to lock our bond firmly there in place.
Our time it seems to slip away like ever shifting sand
I know it’s time now to leave but can’t turn loose your hand.
Please hold me one last time before I have to go
For when I’ll come this way again only the Lord may know.
