Its in my heart

Its in my mind

A need so deep, yet far apart

Something I’ve yet to find

Can’t click my fingers

And make it real

Never fades, always lingers

Always waiting for that need to feel

Suddenly its here

Yet I still question it

Something I’ve longed for so dear

A denial, sometimes a temptation to quit

I know I’m scared

Past experiences have me cautious

So I’ll cast regrets of having not dared

Not think of what if’s and being nauseous

Once more I’ll throw my heart over that hedge

See if you’ll catch and hold it

I’ll stand nervous, tippy-toed on that ledge

To watch you walk toward me, heart in hand and forever with me sit
