…carry me higher.

And, in the midst of my sorrows
You appear
Brightly
Brighter than the alabaster
Sunshine, beaming
Through summertime trees

You appear
As a miracle
A painting of moving seas
A divine blessing
Created just for me

You smile
Promising, that tomorrow
Will never end
You take my hand
And tell me
Sometimes people
Are forged by fire
A perfect blend

And, once again
Your words
Carry me higher

You allow me
To disappear quietly
In the night
The shadow of who I was
Is eclipsed by your light

And, you’re still here
You stand by my side
All the while assuring me
There is no wrong or right

Love it, the imagery of fire works so well for poetry. The idea of being, “forged by fire” creates an amazing image and personality all at the same time.
