Thoughts of the outside world and those left behind, while serving time in prison. A promise to yourself, after leaving those walls, and promises to those little babies waiting on the outside.
Dedicated to my son, Randy. He’s behind those walls now, but, he’s in my heart always. I Love You Randy.
He thinks of those he’s left behind
Afraid time may erase him from their minds
And he remembers the shine, of their little faces
They’ll remember his love, time cannot erase this
When those doors open, and at last he is free
It will be those faces, he will race to see
So he waits for that day, and his heart rejoices
He now realizes, life is all about choices
One day he’ll walk thru those gates
Leaving all the hell on the inside
For inside those walls , he learned to hate
And he nearly lost his mind
When the day comes , he’ll look back and smile
For behind those walls, his mind traveled many a mile
He takes one more look, at his past
He knows he will never be back
Because now, He’s Free At Last
