A Poem.
Doors open, doors close
me on the wrong side
Open is an invitation to freedom
Closed is slamming the prison cell shut.
The world walks by as I watch
uncaring, oblivious to my pain
Even the people near me don’t hear my
pleas for help.
Outside beckons, tauntingly, knowingly?
seeming to sense my helplessness to respond
My hands are tied, I can’t move, my fate is sealed.
So I sit, yearning for what? freedom?
Knowing it is futile, but still hope is alive
an unfulfilled dream is sadly relinquished
but the hope, the hope remains
For without hope there is nothing.
