You say that you love me but 

I know it is not true just look

at my face how you turned it

black and blue

I say that I’m not going through this

anymore but then you come back again

and sweet talk me into being your friend

You say that it will never happen again

you are so sorry and you did not mean it so

I walk around on egg shells fearing the next hit

not knowing when you will burst out into an

outrageous fit

My children watch and cry because they think

their mother is going to die not realizing

what they see will torture their minds will they

ever be free

Today is the day I make my escape a new

life is before me I finally realized that I held the

key and you have lost your power over me

Abuse of any kind is never OK
