Freedom in the eyes of an aspiring and young poet.

I don’t need a reason,

The pursuit of happiness is considered treason.

As long as I march in step with society, I will be disloyal

To my pride, goals, and toil.

Don’t be a critic; meaning, don’t tell me that I am wrong.

I have known this for oh so very long.

I have a burning ember in my heart.

Now I realize, I should have known it from the start.

Do what you want

And do what you will.

Even if it is just for a little thrill.

Passion sets you aside from the rest of the world.
