An overwhelming sense of dread when the truth became so clear.

How could have all this happened to a friend I hold so dear.

The feeling of uncertainty lurked within my mind.

Would it ever be the same, or was our friendship left behind?

How was she to function on her own with all her parts?

Is she getting the help she needs, I pray in my heart of hearts?

I managed to betray, what little trust she had.

And now do not know what to do, I’m left feeling so sad.

I hope one day she’ll see, I did what I thought best.

It was hard for me as well and now my heart can’t rest.
