Hello, goodbye.

From the east
And from the west
Met at the middle
And get along well

Gently, lovingly, joyously
Seem to flow endlessly
Cascading beautifully
Traversing, enjoying
Breathtaking scenery

Enduring the sun
The harsh, vast arid land
Standing strong together
Holding each other’s arm

Painstakingly resisting
All storm & bad weather
Fighting the biting cold
Giving, sharing warmth
But somehow, somewhere
Some things went wrong
Things went beyond control

Unexpected, unexplainable
Phenomena came rushing
Crushing the very foundation
Efforts were not enough
Everything turns out dry
No matter how hard we try
Nothing can be done
To keep the flow going

It would be the best for us
To go separate ways
Now I believe, some things
Are not really meant to be
And we aren’t meant to be
Go (up) north and
I’ll go (down) south.
