Many animals in the tropical rainforests move and live from tree to tree where their lives are a challenge.

In the tropical reforests

Some animals live

And breed in trees

Moving from tree to tree

To feed

- – -

Ants are so small

That they have no problem

Traveling up and down trees

To the forest floor

While marauding in caves

- – -

Animals like apes and monkeys

Have to work much harder

Because of their size

Griping tree limbs

And swinging themselves

Through the forest

- – -

It they fail to catch a limb

That propel them

A fall to the forest floor

Could be fatal

The routes through these trees

Are considered their highways

And superhighways

- – -

Some primates are able

To navigate these routes

Solely by sight

But when it’s dark

Bush babies on the move

Do so partly by smell

- – -

Gibbons are the acrobats

Of these vast forests

For they swing hand over hand

Underneath the branches of trees

- – -

Birds, frogs, snakes, and insects

Negotiate the treetops

Where they put on displays

As they endeavor to entrap

Their prey

And attract mates

- – -

Over eons

Some of these creatures

Like bats

Have developed gliders

That enable them

To more easily
