The other side of gain, a Poem- an exempt from THE WIND OF MY SAILS by Winfridah C Mcekeni.
Gains i have gained
In gain I have lost
In gain I have lost myself
The more I gain, the more I am lost
Slowly fading away in the twilight of gain
Slowly I am vanishing, washed, and swept under
Slowly I am resigned, consumed, i succumb in gain
In gain I am exorbitant, far in contrivance I live
In sublunary submission I am folded in gain
I live not for the pleasure of my creator
I live life for the pleasure of envious eyes
my neighbor measures my gain with envy
lost in gain i have successfully lost my integrations
A mediocre I run my success, successfully to my loss
losing faith in my hands, and my trust in my maker
I am lost to a robotic world that rules my dwellings
losing constantly, betrayed by hi-tech, I replace my tech
in pursuit of enlightenment, I increase my stress
I am constantly numbing myself to live
On a pill I live to seek the self I once knew
I have gained too much, but less for my containment
I gain more, but I am one Less
the more I gain the more I want
The more gain, but still one More less for my satisfaction
In gain I am lost
To lose gain, is gain, but loss only to my eyes
To gain gains is loss if gain does not gain you self
To lose self is tragic
if gained gain does not gain you life purpose
I gain and safeguard my gain to live above my gains
