The faith required to plant and anticipate teaches us a life lesson. Good things generally come to those who water, feed and wait.
Once your seeds have grown and matured
You feel a sense of nurturing love
And then you notice and want to protect,
Your defenseless growing vegetable plant.
You keep a watchful eye about,
Making sure no pests and weeds are out,
Eventually a regular routine emerges
In order to keep your plants vibrant and sturdy.
Like a scarecrow you stand as defense
Daring that squirrel to show its face
As rodents and bugs round the leaves,
You’re sure to respect the color “green.”
Working in garden projects is a plus,
Building a labyrinth can be a tricky maze,
Community, time and leadership a must,
To finish a brick project for public trust.
Before you realize, time has flown by,
And soon harvest time is present
Then you look back at all the work,
Gardening and guarding – all of God’s work.
