It’s the first week of the new year.

Bright sunshine on a wintry day

Walk across the bridge above the train tracks

Into the business section with display windows full of after-holiday bargains

A stop at the bank for a roll of quarters

A stop at the supermarket for cloves of garlic

A stop at a bar for a large mug of beer

Then back across the bridge

Back to the apartment

Back to the workstation

And a new work week begins
