A puppet falls in love with a girl he sees walking by the shop. He loves her dearly and awaits the moment to sing to her.
She felt a sting in her heart,
And it was ripping her soul apart,
I wondered, if ever, I could save her.
But then I’m just a doll people favor.
I stand with my drum and sticks,
I sing in a voice that I mimicked.
I wonder if I sung in my true voice,
Will she see me as she sees those boys?
Clunk…Clunk…Clunk…Clunk…
My gears are still perfectly in place,
Yet here I am, still in this glass case.
I see a radiant smile on her face.
She is walking at such a graceful pace.
Then one day, her hands looked rough,
And the next day, she would cough.
She was ill and she looked quite dirty,
Though her radiance is quite thrifty.
Criink…Criink…Criink…Criink…
My gears then begin to freeze,
Glass fogs within winter’s breeze.
Though she tries to smile away fears,
I could still see those frozen tears.
Her face was covered with scars,
Though it may seem quite farce,
Such a fool, everyone in this city,
Their eyes are shut to true beauty.
Cri…ink…Cri…ink…Cri…ink…
I could feel my gears ticking,
Recently, I have stopped singing,
My only wish is for her to see me,
A tiny glimpse and I will be in glee
The All Mighty has given an answer!
I see her yet, she is ill and she stagger
Leaning on the glass where I stand,
So tragic, yet it felt so blissfully grand.
Crii…iink…Crii…iink…Crii…iink…Crii…
She looked up, I can see her,
She sees me, a strange thing occur,
She smiles and I feel her very soul,
Her eyes were as warm as burning coal.
She leans closer, my heart abruptly ache.
Her emotions are real and never fake,
Her lips touched the cold fogged glass,
If I could cry, it is only for this lass.
Crrnk…crrnk…crnk…crnnk…
If only here I could sing one more time,
I can try, if I don’t it would more of a crime.
Mustering my all my strength, I sang,
A beautiful melody I created with a twang.
Crrk…crrk…crr…crr…rrr…
Finally, my gears completely stopped,
And her breath eventually abrupt,
My love for her is eternally sealed,
I was a doll and yet, I felt quite real.
