It’s a message in verse that could shock a man of war.

General George Patton’s Horrible Nightmare

God’s will is my will…

Everything is fulfilled.

The hate filled and the loathing hearts

Are finally all stilled…

No enemy among us

To make my art more skilled.

“Wake up, Wake up”, the devil said.

“It isn’t as it seems…

Forget your fears, oh, special son

You’ve had some crazy dreams”.

I like this very much! I can just picture an old war horse like Patton thinking those very thoughts, and wakening relieved to find it ain’t so.

The last line, I loved the most: “Forget your fears, oh, special son
You’ve had some crazy dreams”. Nicely done!

    Dear Sir T. Rex McGoogle,

You are right. It isn’t as it seems. I’m trying to forget my fears here, virtually, and dream my crazy dreams.

Do you really know who – or what – I am?

One thing is for sure: I Am
    Who I Am,

    Yours Truly,
    the One & Only
    Troll of Triond

This one took me awhile to figure out the message and Patton is one of my favorite generals. I first thought you were picking on him or his gung-ho style that the kinder, gentler war critics bring up…then, I thought about it; and from everything I read about him, his nightmare certainly would have been a vision of no more wars to fight (which we know never seems to happen).
